A smoothie that will improve your sleep!


Let's admit it, we all have bad nights of sleep every now and then, whether it's because we have small children, or because we have some problem that's been eating away at our nerves and not letting us rest, or for any other reason.

Fortunately, I've already gone through the sleep deprivation phase of being a mother, but like anyone I still have some bad nights, specially when my kids are sick and keep waking up all night, or they just wake up to go to the bathroom and ask me for help.


I rarely have trouble falling asleep, but, on the other hand, I've always been a light sleeper, which makes me wake up very easily, and worse, often after waking up in the middle of the night, I can't get back to sleep! And this would be wonderful if it were at 5 or 5:30 in the morning, but sometimes it's at 2 or 3, and when that happens, I end up tossing and turning until I give up and get up to workout or work on my laptop.


When this happens more often than usual, I always take Melatonin, which helps me not only to whine down earlier, but also fall asleep easily if I end up waking up during the night. I take between 1mg and 5mg about 30 minutes before going to bed, and it works like a charm!

I recently discovered that cherries, in addition to their nutritional content, also contain melatonin! Yes! The hormone that helps regulate sleep, and the same one I take when I'm more out of sync with my sleep.


Because I had bought these frozen cherries at Costco I decided to create a smoothie after realizing how powerful cherries were.


See all the ingredientes I used:



1 cup of frozen organic cherries (140g)

1 scoop whey isolate(30g)

1 scoop collagen peptides (15g)

1 tbs PBfit (8g)

1 tbs chia seeds (10g)

1 cup water (240ml)

Dark chocolate grinded (85%)


Just mix everything in a blender and finish with the dark chocolate!
